As the pool water moves through the collectors, it is heated

The heated water returns to the pool through the pools normal return lines.

Yes! Solar Heating will typically add a month to the beginning and the end of your swimming season.

What do I with the panels in the winter?

The solar panels will simply need to be drained durring the winter season. They do not need to be covered or brought indoor. Although they can continue to provide heat throughout the winter, the panels are also affected by abient temperature and will not typically keep a pool suffiecently warm alone for swimming.
