Pool Filters


There are three choices when choosing a filter. Here are some facts to help you decide which filter is best suited for your pool. Also please contact our office for proper sizing, additional questions, installations or a free estimate.

Diatomaceous Earth (D.E.) Filters
  • Filters 1-2 microns (Particle Size)
  • Requires back-washing (Average is every 4-6 weeks)
  • After back-washing, a D.E. filter must be “recharge” by adding
    Diatomaceous Earth powder into the skimmer basket
  • Manual cleaning is suggested once per season

  • Filters 10-12 microns (Particle Size)
  • Requires back-washing (Average is every 2-3 weeks)
  • Sand must be changed every 5-7 years

Cartridge Filters
  • Filters 13-15 Microns
  • Requires Manual cleaning (cleaning cycle will depend on filter)
  • Cartridges must be replaced an average of every 1 to 2 years.
  • Most widely used on spa’s and in area’s where a backwash line is not practical.
